We are excited to be a part of the proven success of early care and education programs. Through research, services and advocacy, Child Care Services realizes improvements to the child care system in the world.
The strength of children to combat diseases is weaker than that of the adults and hence they are unable to take strong medicines. Besides this, at very small age, infancy especially, the child is not able to express his symptoms clearly so it is necessary to take utmost care in choosing remedies for children.
A child may spend 10,000 hours in a childcare program before enter in first grade. Each of those hours is critical: research tells us that children who attend a good early education program in the first five years of life are most likely to be in a highly skilled job or in college at age 21.
In many ways, our preschool years determine our future competitive role in the global economy, the public safety of our communities, the cost-effective investment of public and private dollars, and the success of welfare reform. When childcare becomes necessary for families; quality childcare becomes critical for children. If done well, childcare benefits us all.
Child-care services start range from small home based operations to large commercial centers and can be started with an investment of as little as a few hundred dollars. You can stay very small, essentially just creating a job for yourself, or you can grow into a substantial enterprise with potentially millions of dollars a year in revenue
Childcare services promote participation of student, staff and faculty parents in the teaching, learning, and research missions of the University. The centers are designed to support, nurture and enhance all areas of children's development. All children are regarded as individuals of equal worth and value who come to the centers at their own developmental level and who bring with them a unique mixture of family background, life experience, learning style and idiosyncratic ways of being in the world. The centers provide opportunities for children to begin developing.
The centers provide opportunities for children to begin developing:
- skills for handling their inner feelings, thoughts and emotions in ways that increase their enjoyment of life and contribute to their success, interpersonal skills including listening, communicating, cooperating, negotiating, sharing and empathizing, an understanding of cause and effect, responsibility, adaptability, and flexibility, judgment skills.
