Women have been aware of using this first impression to their advantage since thousands of years, almost by instinct. Beauty is not only skin-deep. The first impression that affects a person forever about an individual forms in only ten seconds and is mostly based on visual impression of a person that includes his or her attire, personality, style and body language . In these days, beauty industry is very well developed and organized with many inventions and thousands of cosmetics as its tools and fulfill the dream of any woman to look like a celebrity diva in a jiffy. There are facials, manicure, pedicure, hair treatments and makeup that have given a boost to the dream of ultimate beauty. So, now go ahead to take a splash in the world of beauty and style.

The first thing you should know before caring the skin is to know that which type of skin you have. There are five kinds of skin:

  • Normal skin
  • Oily or greasy skin
  • Dry skin
  • Sensitive skin and
  • Combinational skin

A glowing, smooth skin is one of the first things that is noticed in an attractive and well groomed person. But this happens only when you are healthy.

If you want healthy skin, you should have healthy diet, a diet which contains proper amount of minerals, vitamins and proteins. Diet is not the alone factor, hygiene is also important factor for healthy skin. The most important factor is the cleanliness. Face should be washed regularly with warm water and soap removes oil, sweat, dirt and bacteria.

Tips for healthy skin:
  • You should wash your face as many times as you can.
  • You should avoid eating fried and cheesy food.
  • Rub your face with ice-cubes and you can also try ice water mixed with lime juice and wash the face with this mixture.

Ordinary washing of the face does not remove grease, dust, perspiration, dirt, stale make up and bacteria from the skin which cleansing do. Cleansing creams goes deeper into the pores and wash them thoroughly. Always apply a cleansing cream on cheeks, chin, neck and forehead. It should be done two times in a day once in the morning and one before going to bed.

The steaming is done to open the pores. It has the benefits of the face scrubs, masks and creams. Take a broad pot and fill it with water, lower your face over the pot, covering your head and pot, so that the steam is directed on to the face. Then dry your face with a dry towel. Steaming should be done once in a week. Apply a moisturizer, and massage the face and neck. Then steam your face. Take a cotton ball and gently wipe your face. This will help to clear off the dead cells and increase the blood circulation.

An astringent helps to stop bleeding and reduce the body secretions as they cause blood vessels and tissues to contract. Shave lotions, cologne and cleansing cream products are made from astringents only. As they are antiseptic they are helpful in treating acne. After steaming the face, wipe your face and neck with astringents. They are used to make after shave lotions, cologne and other skin preparations like cleansing creams.

You should tone your skin for youthful and rejuvenated feel because due to age and other things like weather, pollution and any other harmful things in atmosphere, the face and other body parts starts sagging and start showing wrinkles.

Dry skin and wrinkles will appear on face as the epidermal cells gradually lose their capacity to produce new cells while the dermis that produces collagen loses its elasticity. Toners are used to clean the oil from the skin. They may cause skin feel tighter because of skin irritation. The skin is freshened by skin toning lotions. They help to increase the blood supply to the skin.

The main function of moisturizer is to prevent loss of moisturizer and dehydration of the skin. It also help us to speed up the process of cell renewal. It must have the ingredients that supply vitamins, minerals to the skin. There are creams that boost the natural waterproofing barrier of the skin and soothe the skin by its natural surface oils.

For cleaning process of skin care free packs or masks are essential. They help to stimulate the blood circulation, tone the muscle and maintain the elasticity of the skin. They eliminate the dirt and grime from the pores in the skin.

It tightens the skin in half an hour and makes feel fresh and younger.

We recommended...

Summer Care: Wash your face with fresh plain water after every 2 hours to avoid the grease on your skin. You can wash your face with just plain water, and then rub ice on your face

Hair Loss :For it, Boil 250 ml of mustard oil in a thin vessel. Add 60 gms of heena leaves gradually and continue boiling till they are burnt in the oil. Filter and store this mixture in the bottle. Massage this oil in hair regularly with this oil to prevent hair loss.

Anti-Wrinkle: A mixture of juice of a quarter cucumber, egg white of one egg, a teaspoon lemon juice and a teaspoon of vodka makes an excellent anti-wrinkle lotion. Apply on your face and wash off after 10 minutes. Use at least twice a week.

Pimple-pimple: If you want to get rid of your pimple scars from the face apply tomato pulp every day and wash off it after an hour.

For glowing skin: To give a glowing effect to your face ,mix equal quantity of almond, rose water, glycerine and lemon juice. Apply on face and keep overnight. Wash off in the morning, first with warm water and then with cold water.

Skin Tonic: Mix together one egg yolk, one tsp honey and a pinch of turmeric and apply it for half an hour. You can preserve this mixture in fridge for around 20 days.

We need to do more than just apply lotions and creams to our faces to win the battle against the effects of time and the environment. No matter how sophisticated the ingredients grow, those anti aging creams only improve the appearance of the dead layers of skin on the surface. To reach the deeper, living cells, we need to nourish ourselves from within.

We normally would not eat regularly so juices are an great way to get vital antioxidants, phytonutrients, and vitamins in fruits and vegetables . For example, pomegranate juice has been found to prevent the thickening of the arteries if drunk daily, as well as slow down the oxidation of cholesterol. And new research indicates it may have a much stronger antioxidant effect than red wine and green tea. Beauty foods like these can be a very effective tool in improving the way our skin looks and feels.

If our skin cells are starving because of nutrient transportation problems, they are not going to be healthy, or look good. Blueberries and blackberries are rich sources of proanthocyanadins, so that's a great excuse to make these delicious fruits part of a regular diet. If you can't get fresh berries, or they're too expensive, try frozen berries as they still retain their nutritional value.Antioxidants are an excellent way to slow down the aging process on our skin. There are a variety of antioxidants found in fruit and vegetables. These include polyphenols, flavanoids, and proanthocyanadins. Proanthacyanadins help capillary walls stay strong, which is important in making sure all the right nutrients and oxygen get to our cells.

Paul Bedson, who utilizes Beauty Care Doctor approach to the body, suggests these juices for good skin health:

  • Carrot, celery and lemon juice
  • Cucumber, lettuce, and pineapple juice
  • Half a glass of cucumber juice with half a glass of water

Beauty Care Doctor sees healthy skin function in relation to how well the other organs of elimination function. The skin is considered an organ of elimination as it excretes about one quarter of the body's wastes through perspiration. The other organs of elimination are the kidneys, the lungs, the liver and the bowels. The rationale behind considering the excretory organs as a whole when addressing skin health, is that if one of the organs is overloaded, or not doing its job properly, it throws the whole system of excretion out of balance, placing greater stress on the other eliminatory channels. So juices, food and supplements that support these other channels of elimination should also lead to a corresponding improvement in the skin.
